After some advice please... Both of DD's pieces take a total time of 3 minutes. Do you think she should do another piece?

Thanks DG. They are quite different from each other and on different instruments. When you said your DD used up the full 5 minutes I was concerned that we should as well! But I don't want my DD to do it for the sake of it and also add stress.

Not at all.

She needs to feel very comfortable with what she is doing, that is the most important thing.

Most students will just do one instrument or sing.

in fact most other schools such as SW Herts only let you do one instrument and you are not allowed to bring your own accompanist. DAO are much more flexible.

My dd sang because there was time left and it is very easy to adjust a song to fit into a time period and singing was and is a huge part of her daily life. But so many very capable singers go to DAO that it is much more important to play instruments as there are over 100 students in the top band and orchestra so lots of demand! DG

Thanks!

Yes it is great that they are so flexible. Ashmole would only allow one instrument.
