But I'm sure when I went to Sally Anne's table it showed that that children out of catchment were admitted this year!

I'm so confused, on thier link it said the furthers out was 3. Something miles?
We are about 6 miles... Beaconsfield high I'm referring too...

They are letting you know so you do not waste time registering for the test when your daughter has no chance of a place. How far are you from the school gates?

6.9 miles.

From what I could glean from pervious charts including I thought this year.. They had let people in from 11 miles away... Beaconsfield high.

No, I think you have read the spreadsheet incorrectly. Why would Admissions lie about this?

I give up,

I dont think anyone is lying at all, I am struggling to understand the process and read the tables. I have just tried to copy and past the relevant part of the email and its put my private details on it attached onto the part I had cut and pasted from.

I am going to give up I think.

I just wanted to know if any dc had at all been admitted to becky high from 6.9 this year. I thought I had it nailed and found out that they had but then the email suggests other wise.

I give up.

We were talking at cross-purposes - I assumed you were talking about the most recent round of allocations, not the email to parents ahead of this year's test. I will remove my earlier post to prevent confusion.

I have removed your child's details, current school and your mobile number from your post! The dangers of copy & paste. Luckily I happened to be right here, so the details were only on the board for around 3 minutes.

BHS was 7.366 miles in the first round this year, and 7.982 in the second round, so you would have been safe for a place. WHS allocated to 11-odd miles, so maybe that's were you got the figure from - or possibly last year's figure for BHS, which was 11+ miles.

Thank you so much Sally ann :(

I saw myself but had never deleted a post so was frantically trying to work out how to do it.
Thank you for the reassuring answer.

Its horrid when one ploughs through difficult material, and think they have managed to get an idea of what they are doing, to then have rug pulled out!

Thanks for giving me the answer.

It is still a risk though - what are the transport options from where you are?

Maidenhead has some good schools ...

Yes I know its a risk to apply for out of catchment school :D of course it is.

But its a risk we are willing to take. Whats the actual risk?

She passes, gets in - then we have to get her there.
Or she fails and goes to a good school anyway.

We are not banking all our hopes on this - we have excellent "backup" I have been told I won't loose a place at another school should she fail or not get in.
We feel Beaconsfield high is worth a shot, because she and I were really impressed with it.
Yes we have good school here but we liked and preferred this one more.
