It’s that foresight thing again. She must have known when she picked her GCSEs.

Another wobbly DD over chemistry today. I think the 'weirdness' of the biology paper has made her worried that chemistry will be 'weird' too. But she seems to have done ok in Biology, from what she has told me, so I have sent her off with lots of positive vibes re the chemistry.

4 day weekend here too, with English Lit, physics and maths next week. English Lit is going to be a struggle - a very typically dyslexic problem of having loads of good ideas but can't write them down. She doesn't even need to pass it for sixth form, so I'm going to have a chat about how much time its's worth putting into it. I think some watching Mr Bruff discuss essays might be the way to go, in the hope it might help both with content and essay writing. She may have different ideas though.

She is also worrying about the science paper twos, which are ages away, but she feels she still has a lot of work to do for them. I do keep reminding her there is half term before we get there!

Chemistry for DS as well today. So far, two RS papers have been ok and good, biology also went well (according to DS at least!). No exam tomorrow then 8 next week (English Lit, Geography, Physics, maths and Japanese) :( DD1 had her last IB paper yesterday and DD2’s last SATs paper is today. Both were fairly relaxed about their exams but DS puts a lot more pressure on himself.

Also good feed back on chemistry today. Lots of calcs but she loves calcs. Effort put in the learning something last night paid off. I gave her a different way to remember and it paid off.

DC back from OCR Chemistry 1 - much happier than Biology, said paper was more relevant to the spec they have been studying and revising for ... whereas OCR Biology 1 generally had no relevance to the spec/revision, but hey ho at least a happy DC today. Two exams tomorrow, then three day weekend - next two exams Tuesday. DCs gradually ticking off the exam list, still looks like a lot at the moment but they are reducing :D

DC now having a chill out moment in garden, sitting in sun with a cold drink and their younger DCs Beano comic

I’m now being educated about poetry, after being taught about the play version of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime.

Delightful.

DC would not finish today before 4pm. Now feedback yet, perhaps cell phones were out of bound during lunch break.

I wonder if Grade boundary for Chemistry would be much higher if most sitters are finding it easy.
