Have a look at the CEM threads in Warks and Birmingham - there are a lot about resources. Bond NVR/NR and Schofield and Sims mental maths books worked for us, alongside Susan Daughtrey VR - there are also CEM style books in the shop section of this forum. There are loads of resources and doing puzzles/sudoku/playing boggle etc all help - the key with CEM is accuracy and speed - it is no good being accurate if you are not fast, and no good being fast if you are not accurate!

Just to throw something else into the mix, eastern Warwickshire also maintains a GS system. All GS are based in Rugby. RHS in years 7 - 11 is an all girls school and is well regarded and is easier to get into that the southern Warwickshire equivalent. The catchment area extends quite far out of Rugby and the villages to the south and west of Rugby are an easyish commute to Warwick.

In fact there are a small number of villages where the southern and eastern catchments overlap and you could apply to schools in either catchment.

However I would agree with a previous post. Assume for at least the short term your DD's might be going to a non GS. Make sure that they get into a good non GS as a priority. A previous poster recommended Myton School. I have friends who have children at Myton school and they are very happy.
