First of all you need to tell us what you want your case to be.
Without knowing what your case is, it could be difficult to say whether a letter of support helps or not.
I suspect that to stand any chance at all you would need to argue successfully both (a) and (b) below.
This means you would need strong evidence from the headteacher for (a), and strong reasons of your own for (b).
