Which would make no sense right...why test boys that you are not interviewing?
It's very curious about the change from stated policy...and more workload to interview more boys....

Agree that everyone has the same admission process and the three-stage process isn't new. They have indeed combined stages 2 and 3, which is new.

From the results of the papers approx 50 boys are invited to interview.

DG, are you sure about these numbers? I don't know for sure, but I've heard that 800-1000 kids take take ISEB for Westmister and then about half of them are invited, which makes it 400-500. I assume they might have raised the ISEB "pass" bar a little bit if they are interviewing everyone. But 90 does seem very little to me.

Dulwich, who invite fewer people/have a "smaller" admissions process and are generally less competitive, invited 120 boys for 13+ this year. I would be surprised Westminster invited fewer than them.

Any thoughts/facts, anyone?

standard format English and Maths papers and so are invited to take those papers. DG

Do you have any idea of what to expect in terms of "standard" maths and English papers? My understanding that these are short-form 40-minute tests rather than full 11+ style papers (like the ones at King's and Latymer)

Prospectus says they have 65 outside places I believe (120 slots but 45% approx allocated to Under School boys). That said it would be a massive undertaking to interview 200+ between mid-Jan and mid-February.

Dulwich did 120 13+interviews in 4 days, so I guess Westminster can do 200+ in a month. I've heard Westmister has more capacity for interviews as they can focus on 13+ right now (while Dulwich has 11+, year 8, etc all at the same time). But yeah, probably 400-500 is too many also.

Just curious what is the main selection point. Was it ISEB or is it going to be Stage 2. I thought ISEB was mostly used for pre-screening with Stage 2 being most important. But if only 90 people are invited, these are almost confirmatory (they probably need to give at least 80 offers for 65 places)

I'm a little confused how do you know that 90 boys were called in for interview and test? Has the school actually confirmed this?

I think DG is making assumptions based on what has happened in previous years, but it is already clear from the fact that boys have already been invited to the test AND interview, that the system has changed this year.

This is super helpful, thank you! Do you happen to know/guess how many offers they make? around 90?
