Thanks Patricia, I hope you're feeling better. Will persevere and try other options. Many thanks.

Thank you so much for your sharing on GL assessment. A friend gave me Susan Daughtrey VR Technique and practice books 1-4 and Further practice exercises because his son got into Gammer school two year ago. I have looked through them and they have 35 types in total. I notice some people said they practised them all. Are they any good to learn the technique and get familiar with VR? How do I match Susan D. 35 types to IPS 21 types?

Regarding Non VR, can you also share how should I prepare my DS for the test? He loves NON VR becuase he sees them as a game or challenge. How should I start systemistically and cover all the testing area? I really value your wealth of experience.

it depends on the area/school you are trying for as to whether you should just do 21 types or the 35. Bucks VR used to be 21 but that has changed this year not to be GL assessment. For Kendrick in Reading I did all 35 types

Littlebaker,
I feel your pain..... we are also practising for gloucs assessment. We are at stage 4, she is doing 50 question tests with little motivation. Her marks /times have stagnated, at too little and too long at present.

I think gloucs is 21 question types now ?

I'm not sure how to re-energise her......I,m thinking of trying to arrange visits to the grammars soon so she can see what she's aiming at as their open days are far too late in the game.

I am in llford area and planning to try ICHS and my DS is Y3 so I believe GL assessment using 21 type VR reasoning. I am confused if I should use S.D. in addition to IPS and Bond books as starter. Thank you.

if it's the 21 types then don't get the Susan Daughtrey books, the Bright Sparks practice papers are OK though

Revisiting this thread and wondering how many here are doing DIY only and wondering how is it going?

Hello Patricia
These lessons look so thorough and helpful. I don't suppose you have any for the CEM that are similarly detailed and clear with resources too?
Thank you

Are the Gl MC practice papers around the right level of difficulty for North London Grammars? As DIY tutoring, would really appreciate honest advice!
