Hello. Does anyone know where we can get the English and Maths mean scores used to calculate the standardised scores for the September 2019 CSSE exams? Does anyone also have an anonymised list of all the standardised scores, both boys and girls, for the CSSE 2019 exam?

Ask the CSSE office for the first, although they will be published when the age standardisation data is, presumably.

For the latter, you may need to make an FOI request, but you could try just asking CSSE without this first?

The mean scores and the age standardisation formula are on the CSSE website:

I obviously clicked on the wrong 'tile' and assumed it wasn't on there yet :).

Thanks aa06 and ToadMum. Wow! The means are quite low - both below 50%! Must have been a tough exam.

Hi SuperDad3g,

Yes, sure.

CSSE: English 38, Maths 40, Standardised score 356.72

CEM: 114.69

She felt that the CSSE exam was much harder than the past CSSE papers she’d done. We’ll have to wait until we get hold of the actual exam papers. Also thinking ahead for our second born.

The CAF we’ve submitted has 1. CCHS (IC) 2. WHSG (OOC) 3. SHSG (OOC)

Thanks for the encouragement, Peakyblinder. We’re praying that she gets into CCHS, if not then WHSG.

Some SS6 postcodes - the whole of SS6 is in the priority area for the Southend / Westcliff grammar schools (check for St Bernard's, though, as I'm not sure that the same rules apply for their selective places) and some parts of Rayleigh / Rawreth may well be within the Chelmsford priority area.
