Thank you to all those who have posted scores. Do post waiting list positions etc. when they are released. It really does help everyone to see where the cut-offs are (and also identify any admission mistakes).

Do keep posting scores, especially borderline ones (pm me if you would rather do this anonymously). I will try to update regularly.

Thanks Blitz

You are lucky and so is DD, 24th on the waiting wow and got an offer from CRGS. Many congrats

The offer was for CCHS, as it is for a "DD", not a "DS". CRGS went to about nr 10 on the waiting list.

Dear all,
sorry if it is a irrelevant question. My DD will be taking the exam in September 2019 for entry in Sep 2020. We dont live in essex (We live in Woking) and we are quite keen for Colchester country high school for girls. May i please request to clarify
a) if CCHS takes girls from outside Essex ?
b) any idea how many girls have been taken from outside of Essex in the previous years?

Many thanks for reading and look forward to hearing from you

I’m not familiar with the admissions policy for this school as I’m not local, but I take it you will move given the distance. Do you need to move for other reasons?

ColCHS takes many girls from outside Essex, usually from Suffolk rather than Surrey. I hope you are applying from Surrey then moving! One of DD's best friends applied from Reading to CCHS then moved during Year 6.

ColCHS does not have a catchment area so is Super Selective... the top 160 girls who choose the school are offered places.

Have you visited the school ( I assume so, otherwise you wouldn't know to be so keen on it)?. I must say, I'd prefer to live in Colchester rather than Woking, too, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. The good news is - given the pressure on primary school places in the area - with ColCHS being superselective, if your DD does well enough in the CSSE test to be certain that she won't be tying for place 160, you can time your house move for after the end of year 6.

Thanks for your insights. We are seeing the school in a few weeks time during their open day. But I have heard about the school from my friends and read about it hence has been on it. We are open to moving before year 6 as well. I believe when we see the school during the open day we will get a first hand picture about it.
Thanks again for all your help.
