Hi

I know criticisms of Kumon already, but I wanted to ask parents of children doing Kumon at the moment - how far ahead is your child in Maths compared to what they are doing in school?

What are the pros and cons of the process? I don't mind marking my son's completed work.

Thank you.

Sorry. I was asking about Maths and English in different forums.

We are thinking about starting Kumon for both. Is attention to detail better as a result of Kumon?

Is it for 11 plus?

If yes, then I'd say nothing beats a good 11+ tutor.

If not, then go give Kumon a try. What's to lose? :)

Yes, it is to prep for 11+ and to help him get ahead in Maths and English. He is too young for a tutor.

Sounds like time is on your side. Have a go and see if it's good.

We used Kumon books at home, never went to the centre.

The books themselves are OK. I wouldn't personally reply entirely on Kumon, I think the CGP KS2 books are better
