Just to add, at first my daughter was finishing the test GL papers in half the time allowed and getting borderline scores. First thing I did was get her to read the text twice; there is time in practice papers, but a danger the real exam could have a long piece. She was so fast at maths and reasoning it was a struggle to change her mindset for comprehension. And hard to stop her cutting corners by not looking at the text to check answers.

For the spelling and grammar it wasn't just about learning those disciplines, but also knowing the examiner would be looking to test each possible type of error once, and the spelling mistakes wouldn't always be the longer words. Plus learning to look for the one or two examples with no errors to spot. That generally involved looking at each section as a whole, rather than just a list of questions.
